About Hedrick Brothers Construction
Founded in 1979, Hedrick Brothers Construction is a family-owned commercial general contractor headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida, with offices in Winter Park, Stuart, and Miami. We build across Florida in hospitality, multi-family, industrial, healthcare, and the public sector, with project values ranging from $5M to $160M.
Our work is guided by our GRIT values — Growth, Resourcefulness, Integrity, and Teamwork — and a culture built on doing right by our people, our trade partners, and our clients.

The Opportunity
The Project Manager provides leadership, planning, organization, direction, and control for an individual project to meet its operational goals — delivering HBC's process efficiently without sacrificing our commitment to quality, integrity, and profitability.
As a Project Manager II, you independently lead mid-size projects ($15M–$30M) of increasing complexity, carrying full responsibility for their success.

What You'll Do
Project Leadership & Financial Ownership
  • Accept ultimate responsibility for project success — quality assurance, safety, financial performance, and owner satisfaction — and for the harmonious performance of the project team.
  • Manage the budget, plans, and specifications for assigned project(s) in Procore.
  • Read, understand, and follow owner contracts.
  • Provide monthly cost projections and progress reports showing baseline vs. actual and critical path.
  • Review and approve all field cost expenditures.
  • Manage PCOs, CORs, change orders, CCAs, ACAs, direct material purchases, bonds, submittals, RFIs, and warranties as required.
  • Process and manage owner and subcontractor pay requests timely.
Preconstruction & Buyout
  • Partner with the preconstruction team on cost estimating, subcontractor participation, value engineering, constructability, and owner proposal preparation.
  • Develop complete trade partner and material supplier scopes of work.
  • Negotiate, create, and process subcontracts and purchase orders.
Schedule, Quality & Safety
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule and project safety and quality standards.
  • Manage the project punch list aggressively.
  • Coordinate with the Virtual Design & Construction team on clash detection, constructability, and layout and routing.
  • Directly supervise the Superintendent(s), Assistant Project Manager, Project Administrator, trade partners, and vendors.
Closeout & Client Relationships
  • Follow all company procedures for project plan, job setup, maintenance, and closeout.
  • Close out the project financially and update accounting cost reports within 30 days of final inspection.
  • Conduct a warranty walk-through 10 months after substantial completion.
  • Maintain positive communication with office, owner, architect, and inspectors — with the goal that every client would build with HBC again and refer us.

What You Bring to the Role
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant commercial construction experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong financial acumen, leadership, and owner-facing communication.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Procore.
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification required; OSHA 30-Hour preferred.
  • First Aid / CPR certification preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver's license.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • Profit sharing and bonus opportunities tied to company and project performance
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Company-provided life insurance and short- and long-term disability protection
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off, company holidays, and paid parental leave
  • Wellness program reimbursement to support your health and well-being
  • Annual stipend for company-branded apparel
  • Ongoing training, certification support, and clear paths for advancement
  • A collaborative, values-driven culture grounded in GRIT
