The Opportunity
The Project Executive leads multiple project teams to deliver work on time, on budget, and with the greatest possible return. Directing all functions of their portfolio in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and HBC objectives and policies. This is an executive role combining operational ownership, business development, and the mentorship of project managers and their teams.
What You'll Do
Operational Leadership
- Lead project team(s) to complete jobs on time, on budget, and with the greatest ROI possible by following established project management processes and procedures.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the division's function and performance, ensuring all SOPs are followed.
- Report to leadership monthly during the Project Executive Review on each project per the Review Checklist.
- Strategically plan and execute to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency across operations, and provide timely, accurate analyses of budgets, proposals, and business trends.
- Continually investigate and introduce process improvements and identify and plan for areas of risk.
Business Development & Pursuits
- Develop qualification descriptions and resumes that meet owner-required delivery systems — bid qualifications, negotiated contracts, design-build, and CM.
- Follow up on leads, qualify prospects, and discuss opportunities with the President.
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospects and critical trade partners until projects are turned over to a Project Manager, and beyond for future work.
- Develop presentations for negotiated jobs and, as assigned, work with Preconstruction on pursuit schedules, manpower, and logistics — up to leading an entire pursuit from start to finish.
Contracts & Risk
- Advise, negotiate, manage, and administer contracts the corporation may enter, counseling with the CFO and General Counsel on financial and legal matters.
- Interact regularly with the executive team and individual Project Managers to keep priorities aligned with company direction.
Safety, Quality & Team Leadership
- Lead the safety mentality on all teams by example, working with the Safety Manager, and make safety a priority on every project.
- Lead quality control and quality assurance efforts, working with the Quality Control Manager as required.
- Directly supervise and mentor the division's Project Managers and indirectly oversee all employees within those teams, focused on their personal and professional growth.
- Approve weekly time submissions and monthly credit card reports for direct-report teams.
- Perform performance reviews on all direct reports and witness second-tier reviews on indirect reports.
